To be honest, I rarely see any ads because I have all these filters and add-ons on my computer to avoid seeing them. I also do not watch much television or movies, so I don't see many commercials. I suppose that clearly shows that I do not like advertisements, because they are created to in my opinion brain wash you into buying a certain product.
However, I am interested in taking this course to open my mind regarding it and to learn more. I understand that advertisements have a lot of power to persuade a large audience.
I am a graphic design major, and I love creating beautiful graphics. When I work with marketing or advertising people, our views often clash. I do eventually go with what they wanted (especially if they are paying me) but not without a fight first. I find myself disagreeing with what they want, and I am constantly challenged to find a compromise to create something that fits their needs and a quality graphic I would be proud to call my work.
